Kakra Private Disk is an easy-to-use software to protect sensitive data on notebooks, personal computers, removable and flash disk. It makes a plain hard disk into a private disk that can be accessed by its owner only. It provides transparent "on-the-fly" encryption for your notebook or desktop personal computer. On-the-fly encryption means that data are automatically encrypted or decrypted right before they are loaded or saved, without any user intervention. It encrypts your entire hard disk (sometimes it use a special partition), so that you don't have to worry about leaving the decrypted messages on your disk. The approach is similar to Stacker's disk compression program, but these packages encrypt instead. Unlike similar programs, it allows you to create variable size drives. It does not require you to allocate a specific size for your encrypted drive. It does not contain backdoors or government induced escrow keys that would allow the police, or any other authority to decrypt your confidential information. This means that your data are well-protected, and that the security of your private information has no breaches.
