Shell FTP Updater 1.0 Beta 2

submitted by codepunk on 13-02-2007
Somtimes you just need to pack up some files and put them on a FTP site somewhere. This usually involves firing up a FTP program, logging in, navigating to the correct remote location, selecting which files/folders to transfer and then starting the transfer. Worse yet, if you use a command line FTP tool, the process is even more difficult. Wouldn't it be cool if you could select a group of files and/or folders in Explorer, right click on them and have the option to upload automatically to some predetermined site? What if you also wanted to be able to download those files later on to a certain location by right clicking in Explorer and having the option to download from your FTP site? Well, now you can.

This program was created out of need for myself. I have a blog and frequently need to upload new files and then link them from my blog. All I have to do is right click on a file or folder (or multiple files and folders) and select "Upload to -> My Blog Site" and voila I'm done.... more

It supports layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Originally intended as a free replacement for the MS Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple tool for photo and image editing. The programming language used to create Paint.NET is C#, with a small amount of C++ for installation and shell-integration related functionality.
Paint.NET is freeware, but the team is accepting donations here.... more

This small utility was created simply to keep them honest. When it runs, it silently times how long the computer is in use (in use in this case means the keyboard and mouse are actively being used). Using the report view, you can see when someone started using the computer, when they stopped and the total time for that session. Computer Usage Timer also includes the ability to password protect the application so no one but you can view the reports. If you don't need this utility for parenting, it still is fun to see how long you sit in front of a computer during the day. Give it a try.... more

This feature can be quite useful if the order and arrangement of your taskbar buttons is of importance to you.
